Two speakers in stereo give the left and right channels separate positions. With two Enkl Sound ES2 speakers, you can create a wider soundstage than with one. Placement matters as much as volume.
What does stereo add?
A stereo recording contains left and right channels. When each plays through its own speaker, voices and instruments can have clearer positions between them. The effect depends on the recording, room and listening distance. One ES2 is convenient for moving music around; two suit listening from a more fixed position.
What you need
- Two Enkl Sound ES2 speakers, both charged.
- A phone, tablet or computer for Bluetooth playback.
Getting started
- Place the speakers close together during setup and switch them on.
- Follow the ES2 quick-start guide and stereo setup video. The guide explains how to activate stereo mode by double-pressing the power button.
- Connect your audio source by Bluetooth as described in the guide and start at low volume.
- Play a familiar track, then move the speakers to their listening positions.
Use the video as your reference for the pairing sequence. If setup fails, test each speaker on its own before repeating stereo pairing.
Speaker placement
Start with the speakers at roughly the same height and distance from your listening position, forming a triangle. This is a starting point rather than a requirement for exact measurements.
Avoid hiding one speaker behind a sofa or inside a cabinet. Move them farther apart if the sound seems concentrated in one place; bring them closer if the centre feels empty. Distance from walls and corners also affects bass.
Stereo and multiroom are different
A stereo pair plays left and right channels as one soundstage. Multiroom means playback in several rooms. Stereo capability alone does not establish support for a Wi-Fi multiroom system or independent music in different rooms.
One ES2 or two?
Choose one for mobility and simple playback, or two to prioritise stereo imaging from a listening position. Explore ES2 and its four colours or read about connecting a turntable via line-in.
